How to Install Google Earth Pro on Windows 10
Luckily, there appears to be a fairly simple workaround — discovered on Reddit — which allows a user to run Google apps with no rooting, unlocking, or software hacking necessary. However, the method does come with some considerable privacy and security risks, so it is by no means flawless.
If you plan on buying a Mate 30 whenever it lands in your country, though, you'll want to know how to do this. Before we tell you all about the process, let's go over the risk factors first.
Risks of installing Google apps on Huawei Mate 30 Pro
The method for installing Google apps on the Mate 30 Pro involves using a third-party development platform app called LZ Play. This app — which you install from outside the Google Play Store, which Google advises against in nearly all cases — is designed to help system administrators with Android-related functions, such as pushing updates across a fleet of business-owned smartphones.
To do this, LZ Play requires extensive permissions which go almost as far as root access. In other words, in order to install Google apps on the Huawei Mate 30 Pro without unlocking the bootloader, you need to give a third-party app system-level permissions — which aren't at all monitored or vetted by Google and can't be guaranteed by Google Play Protect.
The method for doing this requires giving a third-party Chinese app extensive system permissions on your device.
At this point, many folks will shake their heads "Nope" and move on. However, if you are OK with doing this, the method below is dead simple and works perfectly well (we've tested it out on a Huawei Mate 30 Pro provided toAndroid Authority). The only problem we've faced so far is that sometimes we were randomly sent to the home screen. That also could be an unrelated issue, though.
We should also mention that this process will only work on Huawei devices, so don't follow the instructions if you have something else.
If you're ready to accept the risks of installing LZ Play, follow the instructions below.
How to install Google Apps on Huawei Mate 30 Pro
- Open the stock browser app on your Huawei Mate 30 or Mate 30 Pro.
- Head to the LZ Play official site: http://www.lzplay.net/
- Hit the blue button on the main page to download the LZ Play APK file.
- Once downloaded, install the APK file. Just follow the instructions the system feeds you.
- After properly installing the package, you should have the Google Play Store in your app drawer as normal.
- Open the Play Store and sign in. You might face an issue with this, but if that happens, simply restart your device and re-launch the Store.
- Go through and install any apps — including Google apps — as you would normally.
As stated before, we have tried this out on a Mate 30 Pro and it worked. While giving LZ Play all those permissions is a little concerning, this method at least will give buyers a temporary workaround until a real, risk-free solution is found for installing Google apps on the Huawei Mate 30 Pro.
